In the vulcanisation process the reaction between sulphur and rubber compounds take place in order to create hardness and elasticity. A homogeneous mixture is essential for this process, so the very fine ground Solvay Sulphur is used in the blending process.
Sulphur is also blended in addition to several ingredients and raw materials like natural or synthetic rubber, soot or fillers to masterbatches in order to get a homogeneous mixture applicable for production of high-tech products like truck- or car-tyres, sealings etc.
Rubber is also used in many other different applications.
