Barium and Strontium compounds and coproducts are part of the strategic business unit Solvay Advanced Functional Minerals (AFM). Solvay AFM consists of four divisions, namely Functional Additives, Technical Chemicals, Special Chemicals and Research and Development. This website presents all Barium and Strontium compounds and its coproducts in our portfolio.

The highest volume Barium and Strontium compounds are produced by the Solvay & CPC Barium Strontium GmbH &Co. KG, headquartered in Hannover. Solvay & CPC Barium Strontium GmbH & Co. KG has been established in 2005 by a joint venture of the Solvay Barium Strontium GmbH and the Chemical Products Corporation with a 75% and 25% share respectively.

Solvay & CPC Barium Strontium GmbH & Co. KG supplies different grades of Barium Carbonate, Strontium Carbonate, Strontium Nitrate and its coproducts to a number of industries, and is unique in its ability to produce a wide range of high-quality customized product grades tailored to the needs of their different customers.

Solvay & CPC Barium Strontium GmbH  & Co. KG has production plants in Bad Hönningen (Germany), Monterrey, Reynosa (Mexico), Sri Kalahasti, Andhra Pradesh (India), and Onsan (South Korea).

Other Barium and Strontium compounds are produced by Solvay Bario e Derivati SPA in Massa (Italy). These products include Precipitated Barium Sulphate (Blanc Fixe), Barium Chloride, Barium Hydroxide as well as High Purity Barium and Strontium compounds amongst others.
